The thread lift incorporates the use of surgical sutures to lift sagging tissue as a relatively non-invasive cosmetic treatments. The method is performed in our salon under local anaesthetic, targeting areas such as the neck, jaw, cheeks, and brow. Thread lifting is useful for people who are not ready or willing to undergo a full face lift but need more than dermal fillers or muscle relaxants.

Surgical sutures of fine quality with “tiny hooks” are inserted just under the surface of the skin and pull to lift the skin upwards by attaching themselves to the tissues in the subcutaneous region.

• The thread material is not visible and 100% dissolvable.
• The dissolving process occurs approximately 6 to 9 months after the threads have been inserted.
• The initial lifting of the skin is provided by the actual thread itself.
• The thread in inserted into the hairline above the ear and tracks down to the lowest point of sagging skin along the jaw line.
• This will lift the skin and supporting tissue upward reducing the appearance of jowels, folds and furrows around the mouth and nose.

As the threads dissolve, a track of collagen will be formed, similar to the way a vine grows around a pole. It is this new collagen that has grown around the thread that will maintain the effect of the lift for several years after*. The procedure is relatively painless and causes minimal swelling and or bruising. A fine needle is used which will leave your skin without any sign of entry or scarring.

It will usually take around an hour to perform the entire procedure. There are some restrictions in activity such as sleeping positions and activity after the threads are inserted for approximately 2 weeks. You will also go on to antibiotics prescribed at the time of your procedure.
