Lymphatic drainage from the treated area occurs as a result of the muscle contracting effect beneath the fat as well as the firming effect of the skin causing compression of the layer in between the fat layer.

In addition the gentle massaging effect as applied by the hand piece during the treatment also encourages lymphatic drainage to occur to the lymph glands and ultimately the body.

This of course can be facilitated by increasing fluid intake following your Maximus treatment and by reducing fat content in your diet and increasing exercise in general.
