The skin tightening effect that is delivered by the Maximus treatment is largely the result of heating collagen fibres within the skin. The heating is the result of energy that is emitted from the hand piece through the gel interface into the skin as it as it descends through to the fat layer and muscle fat.

By heating the collagen fibres in the skin you are inducing a contracting effect and tightening effect of the collagen fibres and as a result causing tightening or a firmness of the overlying skin of the area that you are targeting.

Collagen fibres that are found throughout our body are very susceptible to heat and once heated and contracted remain contracted for the duration of their lifespan in your skin.
